Otto Nordling papers, 1887-1976.

The bulk of the Otto Nordling papers concern the Sourdough Reunions (1950-1974), including short biographical sketches of Clyde Burkett, and Ernie Jessen. Also included are a roster of the Skagway Military Company formed by Soapy Smith in 1898, a biography of Soapy Smith, and a description of the Dawson-Fairbanks Hockey games held in 1936.

One of the most widely known of the younger Yukoners, Otto Nordling (1893-1978) wrote letters to the newspapers and members of the Canadian parliament on the subject of a better deal for senior citizens. Born in Lulea, Sweden, he arrived in Dawson with his parents and siblings in 1914. He graduated from Dawson High School, spent several years with the Bank of Montreal, and served with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (1940-1958).
